More about the Marshalls Stone Standard

cskwmfdwaauoftnHere at Anthony Read, we’ve built up a strong reputation by only ever working with the best products on every single project. Whatever we’re working on, whether it’s a new driveway, extension, paving or landscaping, we ensure that every product is the best it can be. That’s how we manage to deliver results that not only look great, but that last through the years and deliver on the customer’s investment.

The beauty of Indian sandstone

Indian sandstone has become increasingly popular over the past few years, because of its versatility, strength and overall attractive finish. But with any surge in popularity, markets quite often get flooded with inferior products. This has definitely been the case with Indian sandstone: we’ve seen a lot of cheap sandstone coming onto the market but we know that, given the price, it just won’t go the distance. This is because cheap sandstone is softer and more porous than high-quality sandstone. And when dealing with the harsh UK climate, reliable durability is an absolute must.

Marshalls Stone Standard

It’s because of this that we choose to work with Marshalls Indian sandstone products whenever a project calls for it. All products in the Marshalls sandstone range carries their Stone Standard quality mark, which means it “exceeds the base technical levels outlined in the British Standard for design and installation, BS 7533-Part 12.” With superb flexural strength, a maximum water absorption of 1.7% and frost-resistant properties, each stone is rigorously and repeatedly tested by an independent UKAS-accredited laboratory.

So every customer we work with can rest assured that any Indian sandstone installed at their property is of the absolute highest standard.
